GSA Platform expands its offer to include secondary market for LNG terminal services

LNG terminal operators can now offer Terminal users the possibility of resale of contracted services  - regasification and additional services in the secondary market. Such functionality is currently offered by the GSA Platform which fulfils the objectives set out in Council Regulation (EU) 2022/2576 of 19 December 2022 on enhanced solidarity through improved coordination of gas purchasing, reliable price benchmarks and cross-border gas exchanges (hereinafter: Regulation).

As provided for in the Regulation, since 28 February 2023 the users of LNG facilities should be provided with the possibility to resell contracted services which shall contribute to optimisation of the use of LNG terminal capacity and improve market transparency. To meet these requirements, the GSA Platform has extended its functionalities to include secondary market offer for services provided by LNG terminals. This means that the LNG terminal operator will be able to designate the GSA Platform as appropriate instrument for the resale of contracted services by users of its LNG facilities. They will be able to transfer regasification services for re-contracting, as well as additional services. Resale offers will be made by means of two options: FCFS (First Come First Served) and CFO (Call For Orders).
